No matter who you're rooting for, the field of choices for the 72nd Annual Academy Awards® is a diverse one. The nominees ages range from 11-year-old Haley Joel Osment to 79-year-old Richard Farnsworth. The characters range from a girl masquerading as a boy to jazz musician with an inferiority complex.

All in all, when the awards are given out on March 26th, the show will be full of fun, excitement, and we're sure more than a handful of surprises.

  • This is Annette Bening's second nomination and her first for Best Actress
  • This is Meryl Streep's twelfth Academy Award® nomination. She now ties with Katharine Hepburn for the most nominations ever received by a performer. She's taken Oscar® home with her twice before
  • All the women in the Best Supporting Actress category are experiencing their first Academy Award® nomination
