The following are the important dates for the 72nd Annual Academy Awards®:

• December 31, 1999: Awards year ends at midnight.
• January 13, 2000: Nominations ballots mailed.
• February 4, 2000: Nominations polls close 5 p.m. PST.
• February 15, 2000: All nominations announced at 5:30 a.m. PST, Samuel Goldwyn Theater.
• March 1, 2000: Final ballots mailed.
• March 4, 2000: Scientific and Technical Awards Presentation, 6 p.m. PST, Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
• March 21, 2000: Final polls close 5 p.m. PST.
• March 26, 2000: 72nd Annual Academy Awards Presentation from the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium will be televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5:30 p.m. (PST), with a half-hour arrivals segment preceding the presentation ceremony.
