Welcome to Digital Hit Entertainment's coverage of the 74th Annual Academy Awards® nominations.
The nominations for the awards were announced on February 12, 2002 at 8:30am Eastern time by Academy President Frank Pierson and Oscar®-winner Marcia Gay Harden.
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring snagged 13 nominations including Best Picture and Best Director, while A Beautiful Mind and Moulin Rouge both had eight. One of the surprises: no nomination for Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrmann.
Don't forget to vote in our survey.
For the fourth year in a row, DigitalHit will be covering the Oscars® down in LA. We will be on the red carpet taking photos and in the backstage press room with results, commentary and reactions. Join us on Sunday, March 24th.
