The 18th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards nominations were announced on December 11th, 2012 and were presented on January 11th, 2013 to honor the finest achievements in 2012 filmmaking.

The show opens with a couple of critics talking about their first movies.

Host Sam Rubin takes to the stage to welcome us to the show. He's obviously a critic, not a comedian.

8:04 PM

Henry Cavill and Nina Dobrev are here to present the first award. Their presenting Best Acting Ensemble. And the Critics' Choice Award goes to Silver Linings Playbook. The cast takes to the stage to accept.

8:09 PM

Nina and Henry return to the mic to present the night's next award, Best Young Actor/Actress. And the Critics' Choice Award goes to nine-year-old Quvenzhane Wallis for Beasts of the Southern Wild. She reads her speech from an iPhone. She's a cute kid.

8:16 PM

Rob Riggle and Famke Janssen are presenting Best Actress in an Action Movie. And the Critics' Choice Award goes to Jennifer Lawrence for The Hunger Games. "Critics aren't so bad," says Lawrence.

Riggle and Janssen then present the Acor version of the category. And the Critics' Choice Award goes to Daniel Craig for Skyfall. Craig's not there to accept.

Moving right along, the duo now present Best Action Movie. And the Critics' Choice Award goes to Skyfall. MGM's Gary Barber accepts.

Sam Rubin talks to Anne Hathaway and they joke about junkets.

Les Miserables Eddie Redmayne is here now to present Best Supporting Actress. And the Critics' Choice Award goes to Eddie's co-star Anne Hathaway. She calls director Tom Hooper "the captain" of the cast and also points out the CCMA's spelled her name wrong.

Octavia Spencer, looking lovely in black, presents Best Supporting Actor. And the Critics' Choice Award goes to Philip Seymour Hoffman. He's not there to accept.

Corey Monteith and Emmy Rossum are presenting Best Foreign Language Film. And the Critics' Choice Award goes to Amour. Producer Stefan Arndt accepts and thanks the U.S. critics for seeing it as a film about love and not end of life.

Sam Rubin and Hugh Jackman talk about hosting. He tells Sam to speed up.

Rebel Wilson takes to the stage to present Judd Apatow with the Genius Award. She reads a comedic speech, that she says was written by Apatow, to praise him.

8:56 PM

Apatow takes to the stage and demands a standing ovation "just so we can stretch". He also jokes that "we're running fourteen minutes under."

Pointing to Leslie Mann, he says "I'm a genius if only for figuring out how to get her to marry me."

Ian Somerhalder and Jaime King present the award for Sci-Fi/Horrow Movie. And the Critics' Choice Award goes to Looper/i>.

Sam Rubin talks to John Goodman. Goodman calls the bit "Communist torture."

Eva Longoria and Paul Wesley are out now to present the comedy acting awards. Best Actress in a Comedy goes to Jennifer Lawrence for Silver Linings Playbook. "No, seriously, I love critics."

The duo now present the Comedy Actor trophy. And the Critics' Choice Award goes to Bradley Cooper for Silver Linings Playbook.

Eva and Paul now present Comedy Movie. And the Critics' Choice Award goes to Silver Linings Playbook.

Sam Rubin announces the winner of the fan-voted franchise awards: Twilight.

9:30 PM

RAy Liotta's here to present Best Director. And the Critics' Choice Award goes to Ben Affleck for Argo. He seems surprised as he didn't get an Oscar nod this morning. He gets a standing ovation. "I would like to thank the Academy..."

9:38 PM

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is presenting Best Actress. And the Critics' Choice Award goes to Jessica Chastain for Zero Dark Thirty. She thanks the folks "at table five."

9:46 PM

Melissa Leo struts out to present Best Actor. And the Critics' Choice Award goes to Daniel Day-Lewis for Lincoln.

9:54 PM

Matthew McConaughey is presenting Best Picture...and then we're done. And the Critics' Choice Award goes to Argo. The Argo table cheers and takes to the stage. Producer Grant Heslov accepts.
