In a taped segment, several actresses console Jimmy Kimmel, who believes he can't host the Emmys because of a botched Botox job.

Kimmel takes to the stage.

"You took ten hours to get ready, you got heat stroke on the red carpet, and you haven't had a carbohydrate in months. but it will all be worth it to find out if the award for Best Reality Host goes to Cat Deeley, won't it?"

"Television is an American institution and, yet, one out of five acting nominees is British. I guess we're supposed to reward them because their actors went to the Royal Shakespeare Academy and ours were discivered at the mall."

He also joked that Downton Abbey "gives you a sense of what it must have been like to grow up in Mitt Romney's house."

"Being a Republican in Hollywood is like being a Chick-Fil-A sandwich on the snack table at Glee."

"I don't think the President should be watching Homeland for the same reason I don't think Charlie Sheen should be watching Breaking Bad."

Jim Parsons and Zooey Deschanel are presenting Writing for a Comedy Series. And the Emmy goes to Louis C.K. for Louis.

Kat Dennings and Jon Cryer present Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. And the Emmy goes to Julie Bowen for Modern Family.

Matthew Perry has the job of annoucing the previously-announced winners of the Guest Actor & Actress in a Comedy Series. The winners (announced last weekend) were Kathy Bates and Jimmy Fallon. They're here to present the Emmy for Best Comedy Direction. And the Emmy goes to Steve Levitan for Modern Family.

Mindy Kaling and Melissa McCarthy present Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. As Mindy announces each nominee, Melissa makes some comment about their bodies. And the Emmy goes to Jon Cryer, who told Lara Spencer on the red carpet that he wouldn't win. He's stunned.

Stephen Colbert is presenting Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. And the Emmy goes to Julia Louis-Dreyfus for Veep. In a cute bit, she begins to read Amy Poehler's acceptance speech.

James Van Der Beek and Damon Wayans Jr. are presenting Reality Competition Program. The Amazing Race wins it for the umpteenth time.

Seth Macfarlane steps to the wrong mic as he prepares to present Reality Host. And the Emmy goes to Tom Bergeron for Dancing with the Stars. He thanks Jeff Probst for not being nominated and his family "Most of them know who they are."

Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere are here to present the Drama Writing Emmy. And the Emmy goes to Homeland.

Connie and Hayden know prestent Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. And the Emmy goes to Maggie Smith for Downton Abby. Sadly, Maggie's not there.

Giancarlo Esposito announces the previously-announced drama Guest Actor winners. They were Jeremy Davies and Martha Plimpton. They're presenting Drama Directing. And the Emmy goes to Tim Van Patten for Boardwalk Empire. Tim wasn't there to accept.

It's now time for the In Memoriam segment. Josh Groban sings One Direction's "That's What Makes You Beautiful" as they show photos of Jimmy Kimmel...so hopefully there's a real In Memoriam segent later.

Julianna Margulies presents Lead Actor in a Drama Series. And the Emmy goes to Damian Lewis for Homeland. "I don't believe in judging art but I showed up just in case."

Tina Fey and Jon Hamm stroll out to present Lead Actress in a Drama Series. And the Emmy goes to Claire Danes for Homeland.

It's now time for the Variety genre.

Aziz Ansari and Jane Levy present Variety Special Writing. And the Emmy goes to Louis C.K. for Live at the Beacon Theatre.

Jimmy Kimmel introduces Ricky Gervais who is presenting Outstanding Direction for a Variety Special. And the Emmy goes to Glenn Weis for the Tony Awards. Funnily enough, his acceptance speech is from the control room as he's currently directing the Emmys. Ricky is also presenting Variety Music or Comedy Series. And the Emmy goes to The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Stewart is breathless after being tackled by Fallon. "We make topical comedy which has the shelf life of egg salad." He gets bleeped when he says the show's multiple wins over the years shows "how f-ing predictable these things are."

Jimmy introduces his parents. He says they told him he could do anything he put his mind to, but since he just lost his category, he's devestated they lied to him.

And the Emmy goes to Julianne Moore for her performance in Game Change. "I feels so validated because Sarah Palin gave me a big thumbs down."
