Welcome to Digital Hit's coverage of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's 61st Annual Golden Globe Awards.

This year, the nominations for the Golden Globe Awards were announced on Thursday, December 18th, while the ceremony itself took place on January 25th, 2004.

This year, Michael Douglas was the recipient of the 2004 Cecil B. DeMille Award. Douglas has won two Golden Globes in his career. He received Best Actor (Drama) for Wall Street and as producer of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest he took home Best Picture (Drama). He has been nominated four other times: Best Actor for Wonder Boys, The American President and The War of the Roses and Best Television Actor (Drama) for The Streets of San Francisco.

Michael is the first second-generation winner of this honor. His father, Kirk Douglas, took home the Cecil B. DeMille Award in 1968.

Speaking of second generations, Kevin Costner's daughter Lily will act as Miss Golden Globe.
