Pacino and Farrell recruit filmgoers

Colin Farrell and Al Pacino and The Recruit took the top spot at the box office this weekend with $16.3 million, a mere $300,000 more than teen horror film Final Destination 2. Another new film, Biker Boyz, opened in third with $10 million.

Kangaroo Jack still managed a fourth place showing, adding $9 million to its pouch, while Chicago rounded out the top five with $7 million. The important thing to note about Chicago is that it is still only playing on 623 screens and its $11,321 gross per cinema is about twice what the top two films brought in. Chicago will be going wide next week.
