Five films pulled in over $20 million this weekend, but only one jumped off the screen. Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over took in over $33.4 million in its open weekend while Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl took second spot with $23.1 million. Last week’s box office champ, Bad Boys II, added another $22 million to its haul.

Despite all the interviews and stories about star Angelina Jolie, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider — The Cradle of Life, disappointed many B.O. pundits with its $21.7 million opening. Tobey Maguire’s new drama, Seabiscuit, opened to $20.8 million but also opened in far less theaters than the rest of the top five.
