Aaron Spelling dead at 83

Aaron Spelling, TV’s über-producer, died Friday at the age of 83. The man behind hits like Charlie’s Angels, Dynasty, Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place had suffered a stroke on June 18th.

If the list above wasn’t long enough, Spelling also produced Burke’s Law, The Mod Squad, Starsky and Hutch, T.J. Hooker, Matt Houston, Hart to Hart, Hotel and most recently 7th Heaven and Summerland.

The Spelling name was also attached to over 140 made-for-TV movies including John Travolta’s first dramatic vehicle, The Boy in the Plastic Bubble, as well as the AIDS crisis drama And the Band Played On.

Spelling was also the producer of ten theatrical films including Mr. Mom and Soapdish.
