Angels drop kick the Devil to #2

Charlie’s Angels’ heavenly trio of Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu held on tight to the number one spot according to weekend box office estimates released Sunday. Their film pulled in roughly $25 million compared to the estimated $18.1 million take of Adam Sandler’s Little Nicky.

$18.1 million is still a healthy figure, though it pales in comparison to Sandler’s previous two openings where Big Daddy and The Waterboy took in $41.5 million and $39.4 million, respectively.

The Cuba Gooding Jr./Robert De Niro drama Men of Honor reached third spot, while De Niro’s comedy with Ben Stiller, Meet the Parents, moved to fourth. Red Planet barely made gas money to Mars with a fifth place showing at $9 million.
