Those adventurous hobbits and The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers continued to rule the roost again this weekend, pulling in over $25 million over the weekend and bringing their three week total to a whopping $261 million.

Weekend moviegoers continued catching Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks as Catch Me If You Can added another $21 million to its coffers.

Over in the romantic comedy department, Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant’s Two Weeks Notice continued to amuse to the tune of $11 million while Jennifer Lopez’s Maid in Manhattan cleaned another $8.6 million out of its patrons’ wallets.

The buzzing you heard in fifth place had to be the Oscar® buzz surrounding Jack Nicholson’s performance in About Schmidt; his flick took in $8.5 million.
