Day Four — Sunday Sept. 13th
Today’s trivia question…
What do you get when you put Cameron Diaz, Christian Slater, Daniel Stern, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Peter Berg, Jon Favreau, Leland Orser and Jeremy Piven in the same room? Well, first you get a really long table. Then you get more photographers than any other press conference in the festival.
Yes, Cameron Diaz, here to promote Very Bad Things, is the sexy actress of the moment due to the smashing success of There’s Something About Mary. Though Cameron is enjoying all the attention, she realizes she still needs to work on her craft. After doing ensemble work in The Last Supper, she felt doing another piece like that was the right move. Christian Slater, who also produced the film, says director Peter Berg really solidified the ensemble feeling. During the two week rehearsal period he shoved them all into a minivan and drove them around while they did improv work on their characters.
The process must have worked, as Jeremy Piven said there were no divas in the group and they all pushed each other hard.
