Despite many bad reviews, the new Jack Nicholson/Adam Sandler vehicle Anger Management still managed to take first spot over the weekend with a final tally of $42.2 million.

It seemed to be the only movie audiences were interested in. Last week’s numero uno, Phone Booth was way behind in second place with $7.5 million. Audiences showed Amanda Bynes what a girl gets is third place as What a Girl Wants took in $6.2 million in its second week. Bringing Down the House was in fourth with $4.5 million while A Man Apart rounded out the top five with $4.4 million.
