The SAG Awards
Welcome to the center of Digital Hit's coverage of the annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. These awards are quite special because they're not only exclusively for the performers, but also the only awards that honor the work of the ensemble. Though individuals are honored, these cast awards recognize that acting is a collaborative art.
The SAG Awards also feature a Life Achievement Award that honors those performers who have helped in fostering the highest ideals of the acting profession. The Awards also pay tribute to the various segments of the Guild and have in the past featured stunt performers, background singers, dancers, background performers and animation voice-over performers.
How are the nominees and winners chosen? First two randomly selected panels of 2100 SAG members from across the U.S. select the nominees for television and motion pictures. The final ballot then goes out to the entire active membership of the Guild, approximately 96,000 members, who select the outstanding performances of the year.
We hope you enjoy our coverage of these awards. Below are the links to the individual years.
