Seven films to be considered for Sound Editing Oscar®

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today the seven films being considered for the Sound Editing Oscar at the 73rd Academy Awards®.

The films under consideration are:
  • Cast Away
  • Gladiator
  • Mission Impossible II
  • The Perfect Storm
  • Space Cowboys
  • U-571
  • Unbreakable
Ten-minute clip reels from each of the seven films will be screened for the Sound Editing Award Nominating Committee on February 6th. The members may nominate up to three of the seven films for Oscar consideration, recommend a single film for a Special Achievement Award, or elect to recommend that no award be given in this category.
