Jim Carrey and Rosie O’Donnell have both donated $1 million to help support the victims and relief efforts following the tragic terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Carrey’s publicist said the Canadian-born comedian was making the donation “‘with his deepest sympathy for their unredeemable personal losses. He hopes this donation encourages other people to contribute as generously as they can.”

Carrey will also be one of the celebrities appearing on an unprecedented two-hour telethon on Friday the 21st which will simulcast on the four major U.S. broadcast networks as well as several cable networks.

Talk-show host Bill Maher will be donating a week’s salary, while pop star Britney Spears will be donating $1 for each ticket sold on her North American tour.
