Stone follows her instinct and sues

Watch out for the ice pick.

Producers have shelved the much-anticipated sequel to Basic Instinct and Sharon Stone has decided to sue the producers, saying they backed out on her $14 million deal.

The suit says that producers Andy Vajna and Mario Kassar had a verbal contract offering a pay-or-play deal to the actress that guaranteed her a $14 million payday whether the film was made or not. It also says the verbal contract entitled her to 15% of the gross receipts.

Difficulties finding a co-star for Stone have delayed the start of the film for quite some time.
