The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced their nominations today for the 62nd Annual Golden Globe Awards and Jamie Foxx and the movie Sideways both have reasons to celebrate.

Alexander Payne’s wine country road flick Sideways led the pack with seven nominations, as the critical fave picked up nominations including best director, actor and motion picture musical/comedy.

Martin Scorsese’s Howard Hughes biopic The Aviator was close behind with six nods including both Scorsese and his star, Leonardo DiCaprio.

It was actor/comedian Jamie Foxx’s 37th birthday today and he received a great present from the HFPA. Foxx received a record three nominations for acting: Best Actor Musical/Comedy for Ray, Supporting Actor for Collateral and best actor in a TV movie or miniseries for Redemption.
