Singer Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault on former girlfriend Rihanna. He entered his plea just prior to the start of a preliminary hearing in Los Angeles.

His plea deal calls for him to serve five years of formal probation and six months of community labor. The judge also imposed a stay-away order. Brown must stay at least 50 yards away from Rihanna, except at industry events where the distance is reduced to 10 yards. Brown will also have to attend domestic violence classes.
