Trump chooses Celebrity Apprentice 2010 winner

If you’re on the West Coast and don’t yet know who won Celebrity Apprentice 2010, stop reading.

Okay, now that the Left Coast has gone, going into tonight’s show the sentimental favourite had to be rocker Bret Michaels. Not only because of his scrappy attitude palying the game and his passion for his charity, but also because of his recent health woes. In the last few weeks, he had his appendix removed, followed that surgery with a brain hemorrhage, and after telling Oprah he was on the mend, the Poison rocker had a warning stroke which led doctors to discover he had a hole in his heart. Really, the guy’s next Rock of Love series should be with Dr. Oz.

He and actress Holly Robinson-Peete were tasked by Trump to design to drinks for Snapple. Bret came up with Trop-A—Rocka Blend while Holly’s entry was Compassionberry Tea. The execs loved Bret’s drink and Trump chose him as the victor, awarding his $250,000 grand prize to the charity of choice, the American Diabetes Association. However, all was not lost for Robinson-Peete. Snapple matched the show’s prize and she went home with a quarter of a million for her charity, the HollyRod Foundation, which helps autistic children.

So while Michael’s may have walked away with the title, I think it’s safe to say that the real winners this evening were the people helped by the organizations that the two stars backed.
