Richard Dawson, who first came to fame as Newkirk in Hogan’s Heroes and later gave out kisses as the host of Family Feud, has died from esophageal cancer at the age of 79.

After Hogan’s Heroes, Dawson was a popular panelist om Match Game before getting to host Family Feud from 1976 to 1985 and for one more year in 1994. The dapper host was known for the kisses he used to greet each of the female contestants.
