Viola Davis to receive Harvard’s Artist of the Year Award

Mar 04, 2017 by Ian Evans

Viola Davis just won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in Fences, but she’ll have to clear some extra space on the mantle as she will now be getting the Harvard Foundation 2017 Artist of the Year Award. The arts medal will be presented to her at Harvard’s Cultural Rhythms Festival.

She has a crowded mantle as her role in Fences also earned her the Critics’ Choice Awards, Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild, and the British Academy of Films and Television Arts.

Maybe she’s going to need a new mantle altogether.
