British actors Ewan McGregor and Jude Law, known internationally for their work in films like Star Wars Episode I and The Talented Mr. Ripley, have returned to their roots by launching a new London theatre company.

The Natural Nylon Theater Company’s first productions are to be Christopher Marlowe’s Dr Faustus, a Christopher Hampton translation of Chekhov’s The Three Sisters and an adaptation of John Fowles’ haunting novel The Collector.

At a press conference announcing their plans, Law said “We are making a positive step, hopefully, to improve the quality of theater … We are adding to the mix.” Added McGregor: “I have always believed that there is a snobbery from one to the next — movie to theater and vice versa. If you are lucky to work in both as Jude and I are, then you realize they both teach you about the other.”
