Sandra Bullock makes two award show appearances

Sandra Bullock made two award show appearances his weekend. Both appearances were at shows that are carefully handled publicity machines, the type of shows where the winners know they’ve won long in advance and the presenters are heavily plugging their upcoming wares.
For Bullock, it was a chance to do some work on her public persona after the tabloid-headline dissolution of her marriage to an unfaithful Jesse James.
At the Spike TV Guys Choice Awards on Saturday, Bullock won the Troops Choice Entertainer of the Year. Accepting the award, Sandra said, “Let’s be honest here, just for a moment. Did I win this for being entertainer of the year, or did I win this because of the spectacular I.E.D. explosion that became my personal life? It’s okay. Because I would do it over again if it was to entertain our troops, and our extraordinary troops deserve something much more than some actress in a tight dress talking about herself.”
She followed that up with Sunday’s appearance at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. Presented with the MTV Generation Award, Bullock kissed presenter Scarlett Johansson and then joked “Now that we have done that, can we please go back to normal?”
Sandra’s appearances were carefully calculated to say she’s still here, she still loves her career, and she’d love it if the headlines would turn to more important things like the BP oil spill.
