Oprah Winfrey strolls out to welcome people to the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards. She talks about the power of television. She then introduces tonight's five hosts: Tom Bergeron, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, Jeff Probst and Ryan Seacrest. The five reality hosts go on for several minutes about how they have nothing prepared. Egads, did this even look good on paper? Wow...eight minutes of my life that I'll never get back.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are the first presenters. They're presenting Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. And the Emmy Award goes to Jeremy Piven, his third consecutive win. His biggest laugh is when he disses the opening by the five hosts.

The hosts are now on a replication of the Monk's Diner set fron Seinfeld. They show a clip from "The Contest" episode.

Julia-Louis Dreyfus is the next presenter, presenting Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series. And the Emmy Award goes to Jean Smart for Samantha Who?. "The answer to question 'Samantha Who?' is Christina Applegate."

8:25 PM ET

Probst and Klum talk about women on TV. The hosting is quite awkward. They introduce a clip from Desperate Housewives. They then introduce the cast. The women are here to present Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. And the Emmy Award goes to Zeljko Ivanek for Damages.

8:30 PM ET

A five-time nominee tonight, Ricky Gervais is out next. "Couldn't be here last year. Still won." He gives out speech tips: Keep it short. Don't cry." They then show some speech clips. Gervais does a great bit with Steve Carell keep the Emmy Gervais won last year before presenting the Emmy for Outstanding Directing For A Variety, Music Or Comedy Program. And the Emmy Award goes to Louis J. Horvitz for directing the Academy Awards.

A clip from The Simpsons starts off this segment before we join Conan O'Brien on a recreation of their living room. He's presenting Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. "I was going to tell some more jokes, but Katherine Heigl didn't think they were worthy of the Emmys." And the Emmy Award goes to Dianne Wiest for In Treatment.

Jennifer Love Hewitt and Hayden Panettiere are presenting Outstanding Writing For A Variety, Music Or Comedy Program. And the Emmy Award goes to The Colbert Report. Stephen Colbert accepts the award on their behalf.

8:49 PM ET

Howie and Jeff introduce the accountants with the Deal or No Deal girls. Howie then introduces a man he calls a "genius": Steve Martin. "When I was a kid I used to run home and perform 60th Anniversary Emmy Awards Show. He then talks about his time writing on the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. "I don't use the word 'genius' very often...I just thought I'd mention that." He tells a story about how Tommy Smothers took his name off the list of writers because he thought he was too controversial and would hurt their chances of winning. They won that year and now, forty years later, the Academy presents a commemerative award to Tommy Smothers. He gets a standing ovation and takes a shot at the Bush Administration. Best moment so far.

Ryan and Heidi introduce Josh Groban. He sings a variety of theme songs from Friends, Happy Days, Golden Girls, The Love Boat, etc.

One of tonight's nominees, Alec Baldwin, is out next. He's presenting Outstanding Lead Actress In A Miniseries Or A Movie to Laura Linney, her third time winning an Emmy, this time for John Adams.

9:13 PM ET

Tom Bergeron talks about Laugh In. A clip shows various actors doing the "Sock it to me" line before introducing some of the cast members, including Lily Tomlin, Joanne Worley and Ruth Buzzi. They're presenting Outstanding Variety, Music Or Comedy Series. And the Emmy Award goes to The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. "Without Laugh In I don't know if I go into comedy," says Stewart. "I really look forward to the next administration, whoever it is."

9:19 PM ET

Heidi Klum introduces Lauren "Marcia Brady wants her face back" Conrad and David Boreanaz who talk about the 70 awards handed out in a ceremony last week. They then announce the winners for Outstanding Guest Actor and Actress in a Comedy Series. Tim Conway could not be there but Kathryn Joosten is there presenting Outstanding Directing For A Comedy Series. And the Emmy Award goes to Barry Sonnenfeld for Pushing Daisies.

They're now presenting Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. And the Emmy Award goes to Tina Fey for 30 Rock.

9:30 PM ET

Tom Bergeron talks about The West Wing before we join Martin Sheen on a recreation of the Oval Office set. Sheen talks about TV coverage of the nomination conventions and then encourages Americans to vote "at least once" on November 4th. He then introduces the TV Academy prez who welcomes everyone to their new home at the Nokia Theater. He also talks about the year round activities of the Academy.

9:35 PM ET

Christian Slater and Christina Applegate. They're handing out the hardware for Outstanding Made For Television Movie. And the Emmy Award goes to Recount.

9:41 PM ET

A clip from Dragnet. Probst is on their set. He introduces William Petersen and Laurence Fishburne. The two CSI stars are presenting Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Movie. And the Emmy Award goes to Tom Wilkinson for John Adams.

9:44 PM ET

Bergeron and Seacrest introduce Stewart and Colbert. Colbert starts eating prunes as a metaphor for John McCain. They then present Outstanding Directing For A Miniseries, Movie Or A Dramatic Special. And the Emmy Award goes to Jay Roach for Recount.

Stewart and Colbert then present the Outstanding Writing For A Miniseries, Movie Or A Dramatic Special Emmy. And the Emmy Award goes to Kirk Ellis for John Adams. He gets cut off as he makes his speech.

9:53 PM ET

Just over an hour to go. Howie talks about St. Elsewhere and then segues into M*A*S*H. Sandra Oh and Patrick Dempsey stand in fron of the set and present Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Miniseries Or A Movie. And the Emmy Award goes to Eileen Atkins for Cranford. Eileen's not there to accept.

Kathy Griffin and Don Rickles are out next. "Let's read these funny lines they wrote for us," says Rickles as Kathy tries to get him back on the teleprompter. They're presenting the Outstanding Reality-competition Program. And the Emmy Award goes to The Amazing Race, their sixth consecutive win.

Sally Field is doling out the Emmy for Outstanding Miniseries. And the Emmy Award goes to John Adams. It received 23 nominations. Tom Hanks accepts the award and gets cut off by the music.

Neil Patrick Harris and Kristin Chenoweth are presenting Outstanding Individual Performance In A Variety Or Music Program. And the Emmy Award goes to Don Rickles for Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project. "I've been in the business for 55 years and the biggest award I got was an ashtray from the Friars Club."

Kate Walsh and Wayne Brady talk about last week's winners of Guest Actor and Actress for a Drama Series. The winners were Glynn Turman and Cynthia Nixon. The pair present Directing for a Drama Series. And the Emmy Award goes to Greg Yaitanes for House.

Brady and Walsh then present Writing for a Drama Series. And the Emmy Award goes to Matthew Weiner for Mad Men.

The always wonderful Glenn Close is presenting Outstanding Lead Actor In A Miniseries Or A Movie. And the Emmy Award goes to Paul Giamatti for John Adams. "This is a helluva thing. Thank you."

Candice Bergen is presenting Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. And the Emmy Award goes to Alec Baldwin for 30 Rock. It's his first win and seventh nomination. He gives special thanks to "the Elaine May of her generation" Tina Fey.

America Ferrera and Vanessa Williams present Lead Actress in a Drama Series. And the Emmy Award goes to Glenn Close for Damages. She thanks her fellow nominees for proving that sexy, powerful, mature women can carry a show.

Brooke Shields and Craig Ferguson present Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. And the Emmy Award goes to Tina Fey for 30 Rock.

Tom Selleck is presenting the night's final award. Best Drama Series. And the Emmy Award goes to Mad Men.
